February 19, 20, & 21

Snug Underground Theatre Festival
produced by
The Heart & Soul Theatre Project

FRANKIE & SYLVIA
(Friday Feb. 19 @ 8pm; Saturday Feb. 20 & Sunday Feb. 21 @ 3pm)
An original play written by Michael Sulsona. A romantic comedy set in New York follows the story of Frankie Jewles and Sylvia Raskin. A tow truck driver innocently visits a customer in her uptown apartment unannounced. The two struggle with intentions but are determined to find trust in spite of the difference in age and background. Alike but different, they realize their honesty is the true attraction.

BENCHES (Saturday Feb. 20 @ 8pm; Sunday Feb. 21 @ 6pm)
A musical tale of three intertwined couples trying to find, foster and keep love in the park, that is the big city. With music and lyrics by Matthew Eamon Ryan and book by Frank Williams, the musical deals with self-exploration, sexual identity, infidelity, divorce and reconciliation . . . for some. Driven by a pop-rock score and rhythmic, sometimes surreal dialogue, BENCHES explores how people and relationships can go through huge changes and road blocks, but if love still exists, there is a way towards hope.

THE FEMME SHOW
(Friday Feb. 19 @ 10pm; Saturday Feb. 20 @ 10pm)

Using film, dance, spoken word, burlesque, drag, hip-hop, spoken word, puppets, music, and more from award winning artists, The Femme Show is the country’s only touring show exploring all aspects of femme identity. This is queer art for queer people, with a variety of diverse perspectives on femme identity that can be thoughtful, sad, funny, sexy, and fun. The all-new 2010 Femme Show will give audiences new ways and new reasons to think about gender, femininity, and desire.

The festival will also feature 2 bands Friday & Saturday @ 7pm
