SHARP/ Snug Harbor Artist Residency Program Artists Announced
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden is pleased to announce the eight winners of the 2012 Snug Harbor Artist Residency Program (SHARP), which was recently revived after six years of dormancy. Artists who are residents of New York State at the post-BFA level were qualified to apply. SHARP provides the artists a studio space and living accommodations in one of five nineteenth-century cottages on Snug Harbor’s beautiful 83-acre campus. In addition, each selected artist will receive $1,000 for supplies and materials to create new artistic works from the Edward and Sally Van Lier Fund of New York Community Trust. Furnishings for the artists’ cottage and additional artists’ materials generously donated by Film Biz Recycling a not-for-profit organization creating socially responsible and sustainable solutions from media industry waste.
