Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden is pleased to announce an exhibition of new artworks art by emerging artists in the Snug Harbor Artist Residency Program (SHARP). Works created by Laura Murray and Amy Reid will be presented to at a public reception on Saturday, October 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art on the Snug Harbor campus at 1000 Richmond Terrace in Staten Island. Admission to the reception is free and refreshments will be served. The artists were selected to participate in the SHARP program earlier this year.

Fall is one of the best times to prepare your landscape for next year's growing season. Let the NYC Compost Project on Staten Island show you how to utilize the left over organic material that you have on hand to enhance your garden. This workshop will focus on effective, sustainable methods of improving soil such as using leaves as mulch, and amending garden beds with compost. Workshop Fee is $5 and registration is suggested.
