Join the NYC Compost Project on Staten Island and MillionTreesNYC for a workshop on caring for newly planted trees in your neighborhood! You will learn about the benefits of street trees and the challenges they experience in our urban landscape. You will also receive instruction on how to properly care for your street trees through watering, weeding, and of course, amending the soil with compost and mulch. Workshop attendees are eligible toreceive a free tree care stewardship kit if they take the Tree Care Pledge.  The stewardship kid  includes: a bucket or hosepipe, hand trowel, soil cultivator, weeding tool, gloves, and a tree care manual.To RSVP please email compost@snug-harbor.org or stewards@milliontreesnyc.org.
